Year 6 Orientation Day

Over 200 Year 6 students who will form our 2025 Year 7 cohort were introduced to their classmates, teachers and new school at Orientation Day.  It was  a full program of campus tours, sample classes, House-spirit-igniting and tabloid sports. The assistance of current students contributed to the success of the day.

Performance

The Madrigal performed three songs as a prelude while students took their place. They sang a mixture of styles, from Billie Eilish's 'What was I Made For?', to the jazz standard 'Come Rain or Come Shine' and finally Taylor Swift's 'Mean'. Jessie Inglis, Yolanda Kang and Tara Haigh performed solos beautifully within the ensemble. Thank you to Ms Harvey who accompanied and to Ms Harvey, Mr Ho and Dan Tissera for set up.

Later in the assembly sisters Alice and Phoebe Earl performed one of the famous 'Wicked' duets 'What Is This Feeling?'' with great acting and amazing projection with some difficult harmonies well sung. This was quite topical seeing the movie has only been out for about three weeks and some of the girls had seen it.

Congratulations to all of the performers!
