Wellbeing at EPS

Supporting the wellbeing of our Essendon Primary School community

As our first year with The Resilience Project comes to an end, across the different year levels of the school classes have been encouraged to think about their own special qualities, or reflect on the people and things in their lives that they are grateful for.

During Week 7 students in Years 1 and 2 were provided with the opportunity to explore the key concept of Gratitude by recognising the unique qualities of themselves. Following a read aloud of a picture storybook titled 'Spoon', the children thought about and shared the parts about themselves that they are thankful for and that make them one-of-a-kind.

Here are some examples of the work that was produced:

During Week 8 following the Lord Sommer's Camp for Years 3-6, students were asked to write a note of appreciation to the staff, parent helper or camp leaders for the support and assistance they provided to students either individually, in small groups, or as a collective during their time away. The completed notes will be sent before the end of the school year to ensure EPS' students attitude of gratitude reaches the deserving recipients.

Please enjoy some examples of the correspondence that will be posted to the camp leaders in the coming days:
