YEAR 6 WINTER SPORT LIGHTNING PREMIERSHIP

Yesterday, the Year 6 students participated in the Murdoch District Interschool Lightning Premiership Winter Sport competition. Students selected to play in one of the following sports – netball, football or soccer.

The interschool competition is about students developing their skills, knowledge of the game, sportsmanship, dealing with winning and losing and most importantly, having fun.

The students competed against students from the schools within the District- Woodlands, Pearcedale, Langwarrin, Baxter, Somerville and Somerville Rise. All the Sports Coordinators from the other schools were impressed by all students’ behaviour and sportsmanship.

Netball was an extremely popular choice for the girls, so we entered 3 teams. The 3rd team played in Pool C and blitzed the competition winning all 5 games.

Congratulations to:

6/9 - Emma L, Isabella L, Layla B, Sophie C, Bella Rea

6/10 - Aleeah O, Rayssa P V, Tabitha S

Team 3 - Pool C Champions

Big thank you to Layne Q who assisted Ms Moss with the coaching of the Boys Football team.

The Girls Football team will be playing on Thursday 27th June, so I require all football uniforms to be washed and returned by Tuesday 25th June. It would be appreciated if all other uniforms were returned, washed by the end of term.

ATHLETICS SQUAD TRAINING – BEGINNING TERM 3 (Students from Years 3 - 6)

Students who have been considered for the Athletics team will receive a training letter next week. Selection trials will take place during the first four weeks of term. Training will then continue for those students selected for the school team. Students who wish to be considered for the team must return their consent form and attend the relevant training sessions.
