Sustainability Club
Winners!!!
We are proud to announce that our school has been chosen for the 2024 Junior Landcare Woolworths Grant!
Our project, Worm Wise: Cultivating Green Minds Through Sustainable Waste Management, aims to enhance waste management by introducing worm farms. This initiative will foster sustainability education and significantly reduce organic waste. The children will be actively involved in hands-on learning, gaining valuable experience in sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
Mushrooms in Schools Program
We are excited to announce that our application to run the Mushrooms in Schools program has been successful! This means that our Grade 3/4 students will have the unique opportunity to grow mushrooms throughout Term 3. With the support of the Australian Mushroom Growers Association, our students will engage in hands-on learning, exploring the fascinating world of fungi and understanding their nutritional benefits. We look forward to watching our students' curiosity and knowledge grow alongside their mushroom projects.
Sustainability Club Tuesdays 1:40pm - 2:15pm
The Sustainability Club is focusing on saving energy by teaching students and teachers the importance of switching off heaters, computers, and other devices when not in use. To conserve heat and cooling, we also encourage everyone to shut doors and windows. The club has created posters to share with peers, asking them to display these reminders prominently. Keep an eye out for our upcoming competition, where the classroom that excels at "switching off" will win exciting prizes!
