IN THE ART ROOM

The Year 5/6 students have been learning about the Pop Art movement and in particular, looked at Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe prints and how he changed the colours to create a new look. Inspired by his artwork and the Inquisitive Minds topic of Government and Civics, students have created portraits of all the Australian Prime Ministers pop art style!

Medium: sharpie on acetate sheet and then coloured using water-based oil pastels on the reverse side.

Be sure to check them out below and in the Senior module when coming in for 3-way conferences.

Prep, 1and 2 students have been studying the element of Art, texture. We can create texture on paper by taking rubbings of objects. Students have enjoyed exploring this method and are constantly amazed what it looks like on paper. Holding the paper and object still is always a challenge!

We then used textured plates and collage to create these very cute Textured Monsters!

IN THE MUSIC ROOM

Students in Prep - 2 have been enjoying learning about the orchestra and which instruments belong to which family, such as strings, brass, woodwind and percussion.

We have been in small groups enjoying various activities such as creating our own melodies on a keyboard, creating music symbols from playdough, listening to lots of fun songs on the listening post and playing an instrument matching game.
