School Councillor Profile

Andrew Radion

Continuing the trend of introductions from last newsletter, my name is Andrew Radion and I’m also a new member on School Council this year. My wife Sanaa and I have Zachariah who is in Grade 3 and Zaphira in Grade 2, and they’ve both been at Carnegie since prep. With two kids enrolled at the school for another few years, I am deeply committed to ensuring its success, fostering a supportive environment for all students and continuous improvement.

I grew up in the Glen Eira area and we moved to Carnegie at the end of 2019 – we’re loving the community, local footy and the variety of options the area has to offer.

If you see me around at school dropoff please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself and let me know if there’s anything you’d like to raise at Council, either in person or via email. There is so much amazing activity happening at the school, and we’re excited for the rest of 2024 including the kids progressing in their learning, school camps, excursions and incursions and some more improvement and building works.

Reflecting on the year that’s been, one of the highlights for me has been visiting the classrooms during open mornings and afternoons, including a fascinating art lesson – I’m not sure if I was more engaged or the kids!

I am qualified as a civil engineer, however, have been working in pricing and economic regulation at government owned businesses in recent years, alongside extensive volunteer experience spanning various leadership roles within the Ukrainian community in Australia and scouting organisations.

When we’re not down at the Caulfield Bears footy club or taking the kids to their other extracurricular activities, you might find me at the pool, setting up a spreadsheet, or discussing energy efficiency and electric vehicles.

Thanks

Andrew
