END OF TERM WRAP UP

T2 2024

It has been another busy and productive learning term at HEPS with a range of exciting learning both in classes and on excursions.

Our youngest learners braved the rainy weather to participate in an outdoor nature play learning at Glenthorne Nature playground and our Year 3-6 students had the wonderful opportunity to visit AFL Max to participate in a range of fun activities such as rock climbing, footy activities, working as part of a team to achieve a goal and complete a bouncy obstacle course! All of these activities challenged our students to use their courage, persistence/resilience and friendliness!

Thank you to Ms Angela Stephenson who has run a 5 weeks Arts program with a focus on using sustainable materials (rubbish) to create art on topics our students are passionate about!

End of Term Celebrations

Our term ended with a few fun whole school events!

Throughout the term we have been talking with students and teaching what it means to ‘Allow all adults to teach and all learners to learn.’ Our students and staff have done a wonderful job in achieving this and students voted to celebrate with a whole school Hide ‘n’ Seek game that was enjoyed by all!

Next term our behaviour focus will be on – respecting our toilets, doing the right thing to care for them and ‘have reasons for the things you say and do.’ This will be a focus for explicitly teaching what this means and looks like and again students will have a voice in suggesting and voting on a whole school celebration to acknowledge our achievements later in the term.

Le Tour de HEPS French Day

Today we celebrated our French Cultural learning program with a bike tour to replicate the Tour de France in HEPS style.

Students took place in a bike ride around a course, cheered their classmates on as spectators and designed and made a spectator flag!!!

The end of day event was a staff Bike tour in a relay team! Thanks to all of the parents and families who came out to cheer us on as a fun end of term community activity!

Community Role model awards

On Friday of Week 8, we held our first celebration assembly to recognize and award students who have consistently modelled our school values and upheld our high behaviour expectations. These students contribute to making our school and the larger community safer and stronger.

We had the opportunity to show our respect and appreciation for these young people who demonstrate the courage and inner strength to act as role models, exemplifying what is right and best to do. We look forward to celebrating many more of our students in the future.
