Hello, from Carolyn.
Respect, responsibility and kindness
Hello everyone,
You might have noticed that the scaffolding is gone and the roof repairs have been completed! The repairs focussed on the slate areas facing towards Old Violet St, replacing some of the flashings and fixing up the box gutter arrangement in the roof valley.
The new slate and cappings are looking fantastic!
For those of you who are new to our school, the roof has been in desperate need of repairs for a long time and we knew it was going to be a big, expensive job! In 2024 I successfully applied for Commonwealth School's Upgrade funding, late last year the department of education appointed a contractor who specialised in slate roofing and the works began late last year.
That lovely rain we got over the weekend was not only great for the gardens but a good test for the roof repairs. There were significantly less leaks- hooray! The contractors came back on site to check the roof and make some small repairs. We are all very excited to not have the waterfalls inside anymore anytime it rained!

Gaming together as a family.
Many of our students enjoy gaming online, perhaps your whole family does? You might like to visit the eSafety website to learn some ideas and guidelines about how gaming can build connections as a family. If you are also engaged in the activity with your child you will have a better understanding of what they are involved with, and they are more likely to come to you for support when there is a problem. Check out the information below and on the website.
