The Junior School is off to a great start with students transitioning smoothly into the school routine. Their enthusiasm and adaptability have been commendable, and it’s wonderful to see them engaging actively in their learning. The following images capture the excitement and enthusiasm from the students.

Last week we celebrated the induction of our 2026 Year 6 student leaders and Commencement Chapel. These ceremonies hold significant importance as they offer a platform to recognise and commend students as they undertake leadership roles and shoulder associated responsibilities. Student leadership programs are an integral part of school: in our Junior School, our primary objective is to nurture the leadership potential of our students by offering structured and mentored opportunities for them to cultivate and hone their leadership skills.
In their roles as leaders within the Junior School, our students have the responsibility of collaboratively constructing a safe and inclusive environment where every peer feels valued, supported, and motivated. They are the figures our younger students admire, and their conduct profoundly influences attitudes towards leadership and responsibility.
As part of their leadership development our Year 6 badged leaders will participate in a HICES Leadership Day at St Paul’s Grammar School in Cranebrook where they will have the opportunity to create inter-school friendships with other Year 6 leaders from schools across Sydney and surrounding areas. This event is facilitated by Burn Bright Australia and gives students an opportunity to unpack what good leadership traits are. Thank you to Mrs Myrri Fatai, Leader of Technology and Innovation for attending this important day with our leaders.

This week, our Year 5 buddies have been helping our new Kindergarten students feel safe and welcome at school. They support our newest Junior School students as they learn routines and make new friends. This builds confidence, fosters relationships and helps students make positive choices around the school.

Lincoln Morley recently represented Cumnock Little Athletics Club and competed in the Dubbo Regional Championships over the weekend. Lincoln first qualified for the Dubbo Regional Championships via the Orange Zone Championships in November 2025. There are eight regions in NSW. The top two athletes from each region progress to the NSW State Championships on 21-22 March 2026 at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre. Our Region draws from the largest geographical area in NSW – from Glenbrook in the lower Blue Mountains all the way out to Cobar.
Lincoln came Second in 800m in a time of 2:44
These results qualify Lincoln to attend NSW State Championships in both High Jump and 800m. Congratulations Lincoln on an amazing achievement.

At Kinross Wolaroi we value and strive for academic rigour. Students have a myriad of opportunities to engage in enriching learning experiences for which, in some instances, the school provides or facilitates student access. Please share with us your child’s interest, passions, and achievements by emailing junioroffice@kws.nsw.edu.au.
