Primary School Nurse Program

Please see below some important information about our upcoming School Nurse visit. You will have received information about these visits this week in your child's reader bag. We are very lucky to have a School Nurse visit so early in the year and would very much appreciate you filling out the online documentation as soon as possible.

Often the School Nurse picks up things that have been unnoticed such as the need for glasses or hearing difficulties. If these things are picked up quickly, children will have much more success in the classroom. This is a free service for all families.

Please fill in the online consent form by the 25th February. If you do not consent, please mark that you do not consent on the online form. If you would like a paper version of the consent form, please contact your classroom teacher.

Drop Off's

A reminder Prep students need to line up in their class area before entering their classrooms at 8:45am. We encourage parents to say goodbye to their children at the line up area and allow the students to independently enter the building.

Prep Greene- Line up against the brick wall.

Prep Mortlock- Line up on the bench seats at the top of the stairs to the right.

Prep Dunn- Line up on the bench seats at the top of the stairs to the left.

Teddy Bear Picnic

To celebrate our first Wednesday at school (March 4th), we will be holding a Teddy Bear Picnic. Prep students are invited to bring their favourite teddy bear to school for the day. Please ensure it is clearly named. These will stay inside the classrooms at play times.

We will also be decorating and eating teddy bear biscuits. If you have not already, please complete the consent on the Compass event and contact your classroom teacher if there are any allergies.

Upcoming Learning

Over the next two weeks, we will keep playing games that encourage teamwork and a sense of belonging. We’ll also keep practising recognising our names and learning how to write them.

Weeks 5 & 6

In Literacy in week 5, we will learn to say and write the most common sound for 'p, c, t and i'. Then in week 6, we will revise the sounds we have learnt over the last fortnight and begin to use these sounds to make and write three letter words.

In Mathematics, we will explore the numbers 4-8. We will also learn about counting a collection of objects, bigger and smaller numbers, number order and subitising.

In Topic, we will look at the magic of making mistakes and learn about families.

In Respectful Relationships, we will discuss what our emotions sound like and we will continue to talk about what causes these emotions, and how we can respond to them.

Through SWPBS, we will continue learning about our school values with a focus of respect. We will learn how to respect others' personal space and keeping our hands and feet to ourselves.
