Welcome back to all of our students, families and staff. We are excited to begin a new school year and can’t wait to watch our students grow, learn and thrive throughout 2026.
Our staff began the year with a Curriculum Day focused on strengthening our whole-school approach. We worked together on refining school routines, considering the cognitive load of physical learning spaces, and deepening our use of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. This includes our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework, which helps ensure every student is supported and taught at their exact point of need, academically, socially and emotionally. This shared work allows us to provide consistent, calm and effective learning environments across the school.
To ensure student safety and a smooth start to each day, please note the following:
Morning yard duty begins at 8:45am. Students arriving before this time are unsupervised. If arriving before 8:45am, please ensure your child remains supervised by an adult
Your support with these routines helps us maintain a safe and settled start to the day for all students.
We are pleased to introduce new staff members joining our team this year:
Shannen May – Leading Teacher
Having a wealth of knowledge and experience leading Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support and Wellbeing, we are excited to welcome Shannen to our school as Teaching and Learning Leader

Evelyn Fong – Year 5/6 Teacher
Having worked in our school as a Relief Teacher during 2025, we are very excited to have Elvelyn working full-time during 2026!

We warmly welcome them to the Box Hill North community and look forward to the expertise and care they bring to our students.
Parent–Teacher Interviews –📅 Monday 9th Feb and Tuesday 10th Feb 🕓 3.30pm-5.30pm
These meetings provide an important opportunity for parents and carers to share information about their children. The conversations are confidential and focused on helping teachers get to know each child, building strong relationships so students feel confident, supported and ready to learn.
Box Hill North Welcome Picnic - 📅Thursday 26 February 🕓 4:00pm
We invite all families to join us for this special community event. Whether you are new to our school or have been part of our community for many years, it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect and enjoy the warm, welcoming spirit of BHN together.
Student-Free Curriculum Day - 📅Friday 6th March
Thank you for the positive start to the year. We are looking forward to a fantastic Term 1 and a year filled with learning, growth and success for every student.
