It has been wonderful to see the school buzzing again as we settle into the start of a new year. The positive energy from students and staff has been evident across classrooms and playgrounds, and it has been lovely reconnecting with families at the gate. Thank you for the way you have supported your children to begin the year smoothly and confidently.

As routines settle, I would like to clarify a couple of important before and after school safety expectations to ensure student wellbeing and a calm start to each day.

2026 Preps!

Our new Prep students have settled in so so well! They had a visit from the Herald Sun yesterday, to ask what they want to be when they grow up - rumour has it that one of our spectacular Preppies wants to be an Entomologist! For those wondering, that's an insect specialist! Keep an eye out in upcoming papers to see them featured!

Please enjoy these snaps of our Preppies in their first PE lesson today - focussed on following the leader, following instructions and following each other! We're so proud of our small learners!

Arrival Times and Before-School Supervision

We have noticed an increasing number of students arriving at school well before supervision begins. Students who arrive too early are often unsupervised, which raises safety concerns, and some are inadvertently entering or interrupting the TheirCare Before School Program, which is a paid program for enrolled students only.

Please note that general supervision begins at 8:45am.

To be clear:

  • Students should not arrive at school before 8:45am unless enrolled in TheirCare.
  • Students who require care before 8:45am must be booked into TheirCare.
  • Students arriving early without supervision place themselves at risk and disrupt the structured care program already in place.

What Will Happen Going Forward

To ensure the safety of all students:

  • Students who arrive before 8:45am will be directed to the office for supervision.
  • Parents/carers may be contacted if early arrivals continue.
  • This approach is not intended to be punitive, but rather to ensure student safety and clear supervision arrangements.

We understand that mornings can be busy and that circumstances vary from family to family. If you require before-school care, we encourage you to contact TheirCare to discuss enrolment options that best support your needs.

🔔 Quick Reminders – Student Safety

Supervision begins at 8:45am - Students should not arrive at school before this time unless enrolled in the TheirCare Before School Program.

No riding on school grounds - Students must walk bikes and scooters once they enter school property. Riding on school grounds is not permitted due to safety risks.

Early arrivals - Students who arrive before supervision begins will be taken to the office, and families may be contacted.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to keep our school a safe, calm and well-organised environment for all children.
