Message from the Principal

Cecilia Parada

As we come to the close of a great school year filled with many achievements and memorable moments, I would like to share some important information about this week’s final events to ensure a smooth and enjoyable end to 2025.

Gifts for Staff

We deeply appreciate the kindness and generosity shown by our school community towards our wonderful staff. If you choose to give a gift to a teacher or staff member, please be mindful that the value of gifts should not exceed $50 per child. Also, staff cannot accept cash, eFTPOS cards or debit cards. While a thoughtful token of appreciation is always welcome, please do not feel obligated to present a gift. Our staff value your kind words and gratitude above all.

Year 6 Graduation and Farewell

To our Year 6 students, it was wonderful to honour your journey with a memorable Graduation Assembly and Farewell event yesterday. This is a significant milestone marking the culmination of your primary school years. In addition, the Year 6 Guard of Honour will take place on Friday, where the younger students will line up to celebrate and farewell their senior peers as they move on to high school. This tradition is always a proud and emotional moment for everyone involved. Parents and families are welcome to attend.

End of year celebration excursions

On Thursday, we have organised fun and engaging end-of-year excursions for all students to celebrate the conclusion of the school year. These activities are designed to be enjoyable and safe, providing students with an opportunity to bond and create lasting memories before the holiday break.

Friday – Teacher’s Volleyball game

Students are invited to wear their sports house colours and cheer the teachers on. (Go Girrawi!!)

Attendance reminder – Last day of term

Please remember that the last day of term is Friday 19 December 2025. Attendance until the final day is essential to ensure all students complete their learning year strongly. We encourage families to prioritise regular attendance to support their child’s educational progress.

Back to school 2026 – Monday 2 February 2026

The first day back for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will be Monday, 2 February 2026. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting year of learning and growth.

As we prepare for the new school year, we also take this opportunity to say a heartfelt farewell to our students who are leaving us to embark on new adventures. We wish you all the very best in your future endeavours and hope you carry fond memories of your time here.

At the same time, we warmly welcome new students and their families who will be joining our school community in 2026. We are excited to have you with us and look forward to supporting you as part of our school family.

Presentation Day assemblies

Our Presentation Day assemblies were held last week to celebrate student achievements and commend efforts across a broad range of areas. These assemblies are a special occasion to recognise hard work and dedication. Congratulations to our award recipients and to our newly elected student leadership teams.

Holiday safety reminder

With the holidays approaching, we want to remind families to keep safety a priority. Whether travelling or staying local, please ensure children are supervised, aware of safety rules, and have a safe, happy holiday season.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. Together, we have achieved so much, and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
