Canowindra Team

The Canowindra Team consists of Junior School teacher-librarian Mrs. Maria Muse, library technician Ms. Sharyn Ham and library assistant Ms. Elisa Gallucci. The Junior School library manages year level library hubs, borrowing and reading sessions for all classes and a Book Week jam-packed with events as well as classroom support for teachers. A small but carefully curated library is available with a great selection of books for our Year 9 students to borrow.

Yirramboi Middle School Team

Over the school holidays, Ms Karen Moloney resigned from her role as Teacher Librarian. The school is currently in the process of appointing a new Teacher Librarian. In the interim, Ms Paige Witcombe, who has recently replaced Ms Jodie Warner as Yirramboi Library Leader, will act as Middle School Teacher Librarian. Alongside providing a welcoming and engaging space for students to enjoy at recess and lunchtime, the Middle School Library’s key focus is the Renaissance Reading Program. Students will commence library lessons in Week 3, where they will visit the library for book recommendations, borrowing, and dedicated reading time. The Renaissance Reading Program will begin later in the term. Through the program, students read independently selected texts and complete online comprehension quizzes to earn points, supporting both reading engagement and literacy development.

Yirramboi Senior School Team

The Senior School library team is made up of teacher-librarians, Ms. Paige Witcombe and Mx. Kay Bevan. The Senior library is heavily used by students as a learning space during their study periods and at recess and lunch, and is especially popular as students are able to eat and drink in the library! We’re looking forward to hosting a number of library events this year, such as Blind Date with a Book for the upcoming Library Lovers’ Day and Book Week events later in the year. Senior students will undertake wide reading sessions during pastoral care to continue developing their vocabulary, fluency, and curiosity in the world. Each senior year level will be supported with small library sessions throughout the year.
