Principal's Update

St Joseph's is a child-safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all students.

Good afternoon families ...

It's good to be back!  I trust families fitted in some quality time together over the holidays.  The students have hit the ground running and are full of enthusiasm as we delve into another term of learning and fun.

Year 3 Excursion & Year 4 Camp

Important information for Year 3/4 parents of our students going on our Camp - leaving Monday October 14.   Please note that there are changes to pick-up times.  An email has been sent to families.

All students:

  • Please drop off to school on Monday October 14 @ 8:15am.  We will meet at the tables area near the office to mark the roll.  We will be departing promptly at 8:30am.
  • Students are to all wear casual clothes.
  • Students are to bring a small Daypack (backpack) with their hat, drink bottle, sunscreen, a book to read and a small wrapped snack if needed, e.g. a muesli bar. Students need to wear runners or similar closed toe shoes.  No crocs please.
  • Any medications must be handed to Mr Tom Dunham on the morning of camp.  All medications must be in a sealed bag with the correctly filled out medical form that is on PAM.  All medication must be labelled and have a pharmacy/doctor label.
  • All food will be provided by the camp.
  • Parents are reminded not to park in the drive thru area as we will have 2 buses in the drive thru lane.
  • If any changes will be made to pick up times (running early/late) we will send these to you via a push notification.  Please keep your phone handy.

Year 3 students:

  • Will now be returning at 5:15pm on Monday, October 14.
  • On Tuesday October 15, Year 3 students are asked to wear their sports uniform to school on Tuesday October 15.  They will have a replacement teacher due to their teachers still being on camp with the Year 4's.

Year 4 students:

  • Will return to school on Tuesday October 15 @ 2:30pm. If your child is unable to be picked up early, please email your child's teacher so that other arrangements can be made.
  • Year 4 students are asked to bring a bag with their pillow, sleeping bag, towel, clothes and toiletries.  A Packing List was attached to email sent to parents. This bag will go under the bus and will not be unpacked until the afternoon. Please remember, do not put anything that should be in the daypack in this bag.

Traffic Management - Reminder

We understand how congested traffic can become directly before and especially after school.  I ask all school families to be mindful of others and follow basic traffic rules for the safety of everyone including double parking which is illegal on any street.   We have had to contact local Police asking them to monitor the situation during pickup times.

Kind Regards,

Peter Teggelove, Principal

School Fees & Levies

Statements for school fees & levies are emailed to families.  Please check your statement and contact the office if you have any questions.

It is expected that all school fees and levies are finalised by the start of December.

The school provides a variety of options for payment of school fees and levies - in full at the start of the school year / part payment at the start of each school term / by direct debit – weekly, fortnightly, or monthly / by direct payment into the school bank account or by regular payments at the school office by cash or EFTPOS.  You can even pay over the phone if you wish.

It is important that payment of school fees and levies are honoured and prompt payment is much appreciated.  However, if you are experiencing difficulty meeting your obligation for payment, please contact the school to arrange a time to discuss this with the Principal, Mr Peter Teggelove.

Hats on at St Joseph's

“Hats On!” at St Joseph’s - At St Joseph’s Primary School, our SunSmart Policy notes that all children will be required to wear school broad brimmed hats from ‘Hats On Day’- September 1 to ‘Hats Off Day’ - May 1 whenever they are outside including sports lessons. However, if the UV is 3 or above it is recommended hats be worn for protection.  Children without hats will be required to remain in the outdoor eating area (green tables) at all times – ‘NO HAT, NO PLAY’ policy will be enforced.
