Eureka Division Athletics Competition

Last Thursday the 12th of September, 41 students from Miners Rest K-6 attended the next level of the Eureka Division Athletics at Llanberris Reserve.

It was an extremely busy day but we were lucky enough to have some excellent weather and sunshine at one point.  We had athletes entered into almost all of the events, except hurdles, and were the only school to compete in every age group relay at the conclusion of the day.  

We would like to send a very big thank you to Alyson McPhan and Mr. Bell for helping to marshal the long jump and organise students so they were at their events on time.  It’s also important we extend our gratitude to all of the parents, families and friends that came to support our students and cheer them on.

We are so proud of our students' efforts, behaviour and sportsmanship at the event.  You all showed great courage, grit and determination when competing and all we asked is that you gave it your best shot!  

Our athletes did extremely well and we would like to acknowledge those who came home with a placing and a ribbon from the day.  Below are photos of the students who attended the action packed day.  They were brilliant ambassadors for our school and we hope they know how much we appreciated their positive behaviour and wonderful achievements! 

A special congratulations to the following students who finished 1st or 2nd in an individual event and will now compete at Regionals on the first Friday back in Term One at Llanberris. Congratulations also to the Girls 9/10 Relay Team who finished 1st qualifying to Regionals.
