The Patch Program
Term 3, Week 10
Spring is a wonderful time in the garden. We have started planting our seeds for summer vegetables, and we have finished 2 new garden beds. They are now just waiting for our seedlings to get a bit bigger. We got rained out for one of our garden classes, so learnt how to plant tomato seeds. We planted 9 varieties of tomato, and already had 2 planted, so now we have 11 varieties of tomato. I can’t wait for next term to plant out the seedlings and watch them grow.
All our fruit trees are starting to get their leaves, and we still have some purple broccoli and leafy greens to cook with! It’s a wonderful time of year!
In the kitchen, we have been making stirfy with rice, cheesy vegetable tarts (decorated with edible flowers) and soup and soda bread. All delicious recipes that the students did a
wonderful job with.
