Grade 5 & 6
Term 3, Week 10
Can you believe how quickly this term has flown by? We've packed in so many learning opportunities and events!
Our Curriculum This Term
During this term's Reader’s and Writer’s Workshops, we explored various elements of poetry. In Writer’s Workshop, students had the chance to craft their own imaginative pieces and present them to their classes during ‘Author’s Chair’.
Maths
In mathematics this term, students explored various written strategies for solving multiplication and division problems. We also covered how to convert between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats and how to read timetables.
Inquiry
In this term's Inquiry unit, we explored Our Connections to Asia. Students dedicated considerable effort to researching their selected Asian countries, making a case for why their government should receive $1 million in aid to support initiatives directly aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Reminders
All students require an art smock (or old shirt) for our weekly Art specialist lessons, as well as a library bag to borrow books each week from our fabulous school library. Please also ensure that all uniform items (including hats), lunchboxes and drink bottles are clearly labelled so they can be returned if misplaced.
Important Dates
Monday 14th October Whitehorse Division Track and Field
Wednesday 16th October Foundation & Grade 6 Buddy Zoo Excursion
We hope that everyone is able to have an amazing, restful break and we look forward to seeing you all for a jam packed Term 4!
