Indigenous Literacy Day
Our school celebrated Indigenous Literacy Day by encouraging students to wear their favourite colour to school and bring a gold coin donation, raising $190 to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. As part of the celebration, students watched a special video hosted by Jessica Mauboy at the Sydney Opera House, where they explored a variety of Indigenous books and learned about their cultural significance. We are also running a colouring competition, with winners to be announced at the next assembly. The winners will receive a book written by an Indigenous author as a prize, adding to the excitement of the day. A big thank you to everyone for their generous contributions and enthusiasm in making this day such a success!
Koorie Deadly Day excursion.
On Thursday 19th September the Koorie students and the school captains across the network were invited for a Koorie Kids celebration day at the Cardinia Culture Centre. The students had a lot of fun and participated enthusiastically in dance, art, games, sport and a BBQ lunch. The older students took good care of the littlies, even donating their jackets when it became chilly.
