There is a Staff Development Day tomorrow, Friday 27th September. Teachers will be participating in a full Staff Spirituality Day, offsite.
Students are to return in Term 4 on Monday 14th October wearing their full summer uniform. All students are to wear their hats. Our school policy is ‘no hat no play’ and no participating in a sports lesson. Correct sports socks are also to be worn with black or white sports shoes. The school sports uniform is only to be worn on designated class sports days. Students are to have neat hairstyles. All long hair needs to be tied back.
Our school swimming program commences in Term Four at Caringbah Leisure Centre. Students in Years 2 -5 will participate in an intensive five day program which will operate over five weeks commencing in Week One, Wednesday 16th October.
Note: Parents are required to access the Compass Swimming Event and give consent for their child to walk to and from the swimming pool and to view scheduled swimming dates for each grade.
Kindergarten and Year One students will participate in an intensive five day program during Weeks Five and Six.
The school's annual swimming carnival for Years 3 to 6 will be held on Friday 22nd November. Details related to this event will be shared early Term Four via Compass.
Parent helpers will be required for Kindergarten - Year Two. Parent volunteers are required to have completed all of the Working with Children processes. Parents are requested to contact their child’s class teacher if for any reason their child cannot participate in this school-based Physical Education program.
Many students arrive at school early in the morning before school supervision which commences at 8.20 am.
Parents, please be aware that if your child arrives on the premises prior to this time that there is no adult available to supervise this is a safety concern. We encourage all students to arrive at school during supervision times. Our school Before and After School Service is available daily to assist with student supervision outside school times.

Congratulations to our OLF participants! - First Place!
The competition was fierce with 43 entries from 10 schools. Our team of judges were impressed by the calibre of work and detail presented in each video entry.
We also recognise the time, energy and coaching skills of the staff supporting each team and thank them on behalf of the students, the community and the SCS system. Their commitment and ability to plan space for this initiative into a busy school timetable is greatly appreciated.
While we received many entries, we also recognise the work of teams who joined in the fun and learning of this event without submitting a video this year. We hope they also enjoyed thinking creatively and critically through the design process.
Congratulations to each student that participated in this competition.
We are proud to announce that the winners of this year’s competition include:
Primary: First Place
Project Name: Road Safe Koalas
Students: Alessia, Avery, Archie & Max
School: Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary, Caringbah The students designed and carefully prototyped a GPS tracking system that will alert drivers when koalas are close to the road, helping to avoid road collisions with these endangered animals.
