News from

our Acting Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

As we come to the end of Term 3, it's time to reflect on the many enriching experiences and events that have engaged our students and brought the Fatima community closer together.

This term, we have celebrated Book Week, Father’s Day and Grandparents Day. There have been family Masses, public speaking competitions, excursions and incursions all of which have provided opportunities for our students to engage actively in learning, faith formation and to develop a positive wellbeing.

The school is very proud of the students who have participated in a range of interschool and state level sporting events this term showcasing their amazing talents. We look forward to hearing about their success stories next term.

A very special congratulations to Ms Tozer and the following Year 5 students, Alessia, Avery, Archie and Max who participated in this year's Sydney Catholic School’s STEM MAD Competition. The quality of submissions in the primary category this year was exceptional, making it challenging for the panel of judges to select the top six entries to advance to the National Competition in November.

I am very proud to announce that our school’s entry won first place! The students created a prototype related to saving one of Australia’s native species - the koala. The students skillfully demonstrated how having more LED lights light up on a road as koalas come closer to the sign can assist in saving their lives. Their winning entry was also acknowledged for the student’s communication skills and attention to detail in the design.

Next term the school looks forward to the following events: The Interschool Public Speaking Competition, the School Swimming Program Kindergarten to Year 5, Annual Swimming Carnival, Kindergarten to Year 2 Gymnastics Program, Kindergarten to Year 6 Learning Symposium, the OLF Annual Christmas Concert and the Year 6 Graduation.

I would also like to acknowledge the dedication of our teachers and staff, who have designed authentic, creative teaching programs and organised and mentored students in competitions and events to foster a love of learning in every child.

Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing holiday break.

Loving Father, as we come to the end of another term, helps us appreciate the need to keep a good balance in our lives. May the holiday be for us a time of rest and recreation to help restore us and re-create us in your image and likeness, as we enjoy more of the love and presence of our families, on whom we ask your blessing.

Amen
