TERM 4

Welcome back to Term 4!  The year is flying by and Term 4 is turning out to be just as busy as all the others.

School Bonus

This week we sent a reminder to all current and future families about the state government School Bonus of $400.  All families are asked to ensure their email address is up-to-date before 18 October so the government can email you about the Bonus.  Please check in with Kelli Heriot at the office to check emails if you are not sure, or to ask any questions.

Transition

Traditionally we have offered transition activities to the whole school on the days our future Foundation students attend, however, after reflecting with staff it was decided that all current students will complete two transition activities (not four).  On Friday 6 December from 2:30-3:30 and again on Tuesday 10 December from 9:15-12:30, all current students will spend time with their 2025 classroom teacher and their classroom buddies. A class photo will be sent home on Tuesday 10 December of the new class.

Information to support student transition

Ahead of our transition activities in December, our classroom teachers will be creating new class groups for 2025.  In late November, all students will be asked to list up to five 'friends' they would like to be with in 2025.  It is also timely to ask parents to consider any social or emotional needs of their child and to confidentially email me before the end of October with any concerns that need to be considered in placing your child for 2025.  It is not be possible to request certain teachers, rather it is to let me know of any social or emotional concerns you may have for your child.

All volunteers require a Working With Children’s Check and will need to sign in at                   the office prior to the event.  We hope to see you there!

  • Light coloured t-shirt - To ensure the colours can be seen, it is recommended that students have a light coloured t-shirt to wear instead of their school shirt.  Cheap t-shirts can be purchased from places like K-Mart or the Op Shop.

Plans are well underway for our upcoming Festival.  Just seven weeks on Saturday.  Here are a few updates:

  • Market Stalls - Along with all the school festivities, we also welcome market stall holders to come along and sell their own wears.  If you, or a friend, would like to book a stall site for $45 for a 3m x 3m spot, then please email Deanne Lawn on mullumfestivalmarket@gmail.com
  • Flyers coming home next week - Every family will recieve five flyers to hand out to friends, relatives and in near neighbours letterboxes.  Watch out for those in the school bag
  • Local neighbourhood flyer distribution - next week we will have bundles of flyers to be delivered in your local neighbourhood area, following a local map.  Bundles of these will be available after assembly on Friday next week and we will be asking families to take a bundle and help deliver them for us
  • Donations are rolling in from our community, thank you.  Each week there is a focus, however, we will continue to collect these items right up until the day of the Festival.  The first draw for a rides wrist band will be at Friday assembly in week 3.
  • Early Bird Wrist bands - Next week students will be bringing home notices for early bird purchases of wrist bands for rides, $25 before the day, $30 on the day.
