GWPS World Cup

World Cup fevers Hits GWPS

Over the next week we are running a GPWS World Cup during recess and lunchtime. Around 130 students have signed up across the school to be involved and there will be a junior and senior fun competition with mixed teams. Juniors Years 1 - 3 and Seniors Years 4 - 6. 

All the games will follow a World Cup format with group stages and finals. There will be a presentation at the end to the winning countries and awards for sportsmanship, respect and being the ultimate teammate. The Junior competition started at lunch today with 3 fantastic matches involving Australia v Japan, Senegal v Brazil and Argentina v Spain. It was wonderful to have Year 6 leaders, Beau and James, helping with refereeing and everyone on the side lines cheering on the students and getting into the spirit of the World Cup.  A great fun way to end the week.
