Dear Parent/Guardian/Carer/Students and Staff,
Congratulations to our values award recipients for Week 5 and 6. Well done! Please see Facebook for an image of the students who achieved this award.
Below you will find some of the key items that have occurred over the last 3 weeks. It's been a great Term. Our kids are working extra hard to produce awesome outcomes.
Prep 2025 Transition Dates-SAVE THE DATES
School Assemblies and Protocol
The school has communicated previously that attendance at school assemblies can only be accommodated for the primary parent/guardian/carer of a child and by invitation only. Under no circumstances can other guests/visitors/friends/extended family members attend without prior written permission from the principal. This is to ensure we meet our obligations for Occupational Health and Safety and Child Safe Standards. Please refer to the Visitor Policy for more information on the school website.
Book Fair Parade/Grandparents and Special other Person Day
We had a spectacular Book Week with students dressing up in colourful book characters. Book Week was a great success again this year! It was wonderful to see so many students get into the spirit of things by dressing up for our annual Book Week Parade, and to have so many grandparent's and special friends visit our classrooms. Thanks to everyone who came along!
Progress Reports
Student progress reports will be published on Friday 30th of August 3.15pm. Please see Compass for access. Should you have any questions or concerns please email the classroom teacher.
Buddies
Our year six buddies have loved helping our Prep's with their literacy and numeracy lessons through partner reading in the library and playing counting warm up games. Prep students have loved having responsibility in teaching our year six students numeracy warm up games that we have been using in class. Good job buddies!
Science Week
For science week, our juniors worked in collaborative teams and they took on working in big groups. Everyone worked together and problem solved issues that arose. They learn't about different animals, their habitat and the things they need to survive on. The 3-6's created a card game where you use resources and actions to save the species from real world challenges such as climate change and deforestation. Please see Facebook for images.

Bullying 'NO WAY' Day
It was fabulous to see our students engaging in no bullying activities including dressing up in the purple theme colour. We clearly showed a strong stance that we do not tolerate any form of bullying at school. No Way at OPS for Bullying.
Term 3 Fundraising-Reminder
As the weather cools down, we have decided to swap out our Zooper Dooper fundraiser for a delicious Hot Chocolate! SRC will be selling Hot Chocolates for $2 on fortnightly Thursdays.
We also ask that if students would like to enjoy a Hot Chocolate, they will need to bring their own cup (no glass please) to encourage sustainability. This fundraiser will be organised by our amazing SRC.
All funds raised will go towards a Prep - Grade 2 excursion that will take place in Term 3 or 4.
In alternating weeks to Hot Chocolates, the Grade 6 students will be fundraising for their Camp with ‘Fun Food Fridays’. At the start of week 2, 4, 6, and 8 there will be compass/facebook communication on what will be on offer - this may include biscuit decorating, ice creams or jelly cups. Each item will be $2.
