Humanities Week

Humanities Week Recap

Humanities Week was a resounding success! The Week's first lunchtime activity set the tone with an exciting challenge that truly showcased our student's ability to think outside the box. They were given just 10 minutes to pitch an item for a purpose other than its original use, and the creativity on display was not just outstanding, but also a source of pride. The energy in the room was electric, making it a tough decision for the judges.

In the end, the "Maxifish" pitch stood out, securing the win. A big congratulations to everyone who participated!

The excitement continued with a gripping mock trial, where students witnessed a young man on trial for manslaughter. The lecture theatre was filled with eager students, all waiting on the edge of their seats for the jury's verdict. The tension was high as the jury delivered its findings, followed by a swift sentencing that saw the young man taken into custody. This event brought the legal system to life, offering students a firsthand look at the importance of critical thinking and justice. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who took part and attended this immersive experience.

We wrapped up Humanities Week with a bang, hosting The Great Debate in our Lecture Theatre. The event was made even more special by the presence of the Minister of Parliament, Ms. Gabrielle Williams, who joined us as an adjudicator alongside our Principal, Mr. Tim Hogan. The debate was a true highlight, not just for the event but for our students' passion and talent, which shone brightly. It was truly inspiring to see them in action.

Thank you to all the participants, staff, and students who made Humanities Week unforgettable. Your enthusiasm and dedication to the humanities were truly inspiring!
