2024 NEAA Student Conference – St Rita's College, Brisbane

Last week, as part of 10CAP, we were invited to represent St John's at the NEAA (Nagle Education Alliance Australia) Conference at St. Rita's College in Brisbane. At the conference, we participated in many sessions focused on what it means to be a presentation school, connecting with other presentation students and staff, and learning about the culture of First Nations land. Some of our favourite workshops were being able to meet the wonderful team at Rosie's and going on many tours around the city of Brisbane. Rosie's is an excellent volunteer program that runs all around Australia, offering support and a conversation to our most vulnerable citizens. The tours around Brisbane taught us a lot about the history of the First Nations land around us and helped us see a new side to Australia that we hadn't seen before. Another favourite experience was the conference dinner. The conference dinner allowed us to connect with the other presentation schools and hear a member of Caritas Australia's inspiring speech on their zero-waste lifestyle.

We would like to thank Mr. Farrelly and Ms. Fraraccio for taking care of us and keeping us out of trouble, as well as thanking the NEAA and St. Rita's College for being such wonderful hosts.
