Praying to the Saints-

The historic Christian practice of asking our departed brothers and sisters in Christ—the saints—for their intercession.

Can Saints Hear Us?

Those in heaven are aware of the prayers of those on earth.

This can be seen, for example, in Revelation 5:8, where John depicts the saints in heaven offering our prayers to God under the form of “golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.”

If the saints in heaven are offering our prayers to God, then they must be aware of our prayers.

We therefore ask the saints to come to our help, not because their personal power, but because we believe that their prayer is more powerful than ours.

We know besides that they love us and that they pray for us in heaven, for "charity does not pass" (1 Cor. 13,8) .

It remains in heaven — and remain it must, since we have been created to love eternally God and our neighbour.

In honouring the saints on account of their holiness, which was God's work, we honour God himself, as we honour an artist when' admire one of his masterpieces.

Take some time to get back into a routine of praying to the saints for their intercession in your lives.

May God bless you all.

Kind regards

Cathrine La Terra
