YEARS 3-6 CWA INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY OF STUDY 'FRANCE' SHOWCASE
Thank you to the families who could spare some time last Friday to view our Year 3-6 student presentations. The CWA has worked with our school over the past years, providing opportunities for the children in the Primary classroom to research an International Country and prepare a presentation about the selected country. This year, the International country of choice was France. These presentations will be shared with the CWA in the coming weeks.
ABORIGINAL ART LESSON
We wish to thank Mrs Jensen (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Focus Teacher) and Mr Morley (Aboriginal Education Assistant) from Sacred Heart Gunnedah for visiting our school last Monday. These wonderful, skilled, helpful adults prepared a lesson to teach our students about the importance of Aboriginal Art and the stories that these artworks express. The children discussed some symbols they could use to share the story of Sacred Heart School and then were provided with time to create their own artwork that expressed the story of our school in their eyes. These individual artworks will be carefully considered when designing our school canvas that will be displayed at the NSW Catholic Schools Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Education Conference in October.
