Science & Humanities

Year 9 students recently completed a field study as part of their science (ecosystems) and geography (biomes) topics. Students were guided through a range of activities by very knowledgeable staff and volunteers of the Yea Wetlands Discovery Centre. This included exploring brand new interactive displays, testing samples from local water sources, and getting out into the wetlands. We even had a possible platypus sighting!

Our students represented the school with pride and braved the rainy weather

like true ecologists!

Back at school, students will use their data and observations to evaluate how humans have shaped the wetlands environment, and to determine if their chosen endangered species could survive in the wetlands.
