Bush School:
Our Bush School children have been learning about all the substances that enter our local streams. They were fascinated and stunned at what goes in and the damage it does - as per the modelling done in class.
Whaea Nicole's Report:
On Monday the Eco team met in the Bat cave to learn more about the human impact on our environment. This was led by Aileen from Whitebait Connection and supported by Natasha from Twin Streams Project, this lesson will lead to an exciting visit to our local awa to discover what creatures live there to check on the health of the site using the 5 C's, they care Clear, Clean, Cool, Creatures, Current.
The children discussed how our modern lives contribute to our changing waterways and they were more than happy to share their opinions on how that makes them feel. The groups had some very robust discussions around pollutants in our waterways and showed care and consideration for the species living within. Well done to the team, Aileen was impressed by their thoughtful questions and overall awareness of the issue.

Finally, this stunning Kereru loves our Ngahere—Bush—as his current home. We hope our plantings and care for the bush will ensure a reliable food supply for him (or her).
