Message From Our

Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to another exciting edition of our school newsletter! This past week has been nothing short of 'Book-tastic' as we celebrated our annual Book Week with the enchanting theme, 'Reading is Magic.' Our students fully immersed themselves in a variety of activities that brought the magic of reading to life. From storytelling sessions to creative arts and crafts, the joy of reading was truly felt throughout the school.

A  "Big Magical Thank You" to all our wonderful parents for your incredible support of the Book Week Parade! Sacred Heart School was buzzing with excitement as our students arrived dressed as amazing book characters. Your tireless energy and dedication in preparing your children for this event are deeply appreciated. It was a day filled with positivity and creativity, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your efforts.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to our staff, who went above and beyond by joining in the fun and dressing up for the parade. Your enthusiasm and spirit never fail to inspire our students, and it was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and united in the celebration of literature.

Just a quick reminder about our Sacred Hearts Blokes Breakfast next Friday! This is a special occasion where we come together as a school community to honour and celebrate the fathers and male role models in our students' lives. It promises to be a fantastic morning of connection and celebration.

Last Thursday and Friday, our Professional Learning Community (staff) gathered at Longleat Winery for two days of spiritual renewal and capacity building in religious education. The focus was on deepening our understanding of the Sisters of Mercy values and traditions that underpin our school community. It was a valuable time for reflection and spiritual growth and renewal, and we look forward to integrating these insights into our daily practices at Sacred Heart.

I would also like to remind families about the importance of ensuring that students are not dropped off at school before 8:30am. Supervision at Sacred Heart begins when the school doors open at 8:30am. If your child does arrive early, please remind them to stay on the concrete landing until the school is open. For the safety of all our students, it is crucial that they refrain from playing on the footpath or in the front garden. Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring our students' safety.

Finally, a gentle reminder that our Sacred Heart Athletics Carnival is scheduled for next Friday, 30th August (weather permitting). Please refer to the Sports News page in this issue of the newsletter for more details.

Thank you once again for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we make Sacred Heart a vibrant and nurturing place for all.

Thank you for your continued support. God bless, and I wish you all a wonderful rest of your week and a relaxing, enjoyable weekend.

Warm regards,

Jamie McDowall
