We are celebrating Australian Children’s Book Week in the LRC. The theme is ‘Reading is Magic’. 

Students have been learning about famous Australian authors and their wonderful books. Year 9 students enjoyed a performance by author and illustrator Martin Chatterton on 22/8/24. Martin shared about his life, career and why we should tell stories. He made us laugh when he drew funny caricatures of brave students who volunteered. 

We also had a lunchtime workshop for book folding art. We used older books that the library is giving away and recycled them into new and fun display. On Friday 30th August we will show short movies at lunchtime for ‘Wear it Purple’ Day. This is an annual LGBTIQA+ awareness day especially for young people. The theme for this day is ‘Your Passion, Your Pride’.
