Once again, our wonderful Year 9 students had an opportunity to attend a Street Art Tour in Melbourne CBD. Students became familiar with the many streets and lanes in Melbourne that has Street Art. Students were taken to Hosier Lane where they were able to spray paint their stencils and to apply free form spraying. They also went to AC/DC Lane where they were able to see the last Banksy artwork left in Melbourne. Students enjoyed this activity prior to visiting the many lanes where they headed from Flinders St station then all the way to Vic Market where they finally had an opportunity to stop for lunch. The excitement that many of the students displayed in the morning became exhaustion by the end, which is what I expect each year. I believe that the students’ knowledge about Street Art has changed and have also had an opportunity to work like an artist in the real world.

On August 22nd, we had the honour of performing at the first Rock Band concert of 2024. This event was a fantastic opportunity for the band students to showcase their creativity, talent and hard work. Since the beginning of the year, we've dedicated countless hours preparing for this concert, attending after-school band practices and music classes in between our regular schedules. We worked on every song precisely and worked hard to harmonise as a cohesive group.
On the day of the concert, all our efforts paid off as we delivered a memorable performance. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the students, peers, friends, classmates, and teachers who supported us. Your presence made the day even more special. We can't wait to come back with another amazing show soon!
