To celebrate the release of their first song 'Tori Angel', Target Audience (an Indie Punk band made up of our very own students Josh Reid, Joel Lindsay, Xavier Teo & Brody Holznagel) performed LIVE, Tuesday at lunchtime for the Wantirna College community. Here's the latest from Target Audience:
Hello, Wantirna College community! We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates from Target Audience. Over the past year, we’ve been hard at work, starting with private rehearsals and no public performances. But that all changed at the beginning of this year when we played our first show at the Workers Club!
Since then, we’ve had the chance to perform at various venues around Melbourne and even ventured out to Geelong! Our social media presence, especially on TikTok, has been growing rapidly, and we’ve started building a small but dedicated fanbase.
We brainstormed a lot of ideas to boost our presence, including putting up posters and making videos and the idea we were most excited about was performing at our own school. We pitched this to the Music department, and they were enthusiastic about it (especially Nicholetta, a huge supporter!
In addition to the upcoming school performance, we’re excited to announce the release of our debut singles, Tori Angel and You’re Sick. These songs are now available on all major streaming platforms. Tori Angel was initially written by Xavier, Brody and I for a song writing class, but once Joel heard it, he loved it, and we decided to take it seriously. After some recording challenges at Simply Studios, we’re proud of how it turned out.
You’re Sick, our second song, showcases our musical style with high energy and a bit of experimentation, drawing inspiration from bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down, and The Strokes.
Join us for our Single launch show on August 17th at the Workers Club, in Fitzroy! We’ll be sharing the stage with two amazing local bands, The Stewartz and Smoking Caterpillar. Tickets are just $5 plus (booking fee), but act fast as they’re selling out quickly!
Please note: Under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are here! We can’t wait to see you there and share our music with you!
