Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our College students and staff have been out and about recently. Among the many outstanding events and activities that have taken place over the past few weeks, highlights are:
The Snowy River School for Student Leadership (SSL) Community project
Year 9 students Gracie, Jakob, Ayrton, Sam, Thomas and Elissa attended the Snowy River Campus in Marlo in Term 1 of this year. Once this group had returned to our College in Term 2, they undertook a very ambitious Community Project.
Working with local organisations and schools, the Year 9 SSL team have created a superb piece of artwork that highlights how the community organisations of our area work together to make our community a great place to live, learn and work. On Saturday August 10th, the SSL team held an unveiling ceremony in Boucher hall attended by many friends, families, staff, community groups and our Federal member of Parliament Darren Chester.
I would like to thank this group of young leaders for their commitment to their project, our College and to the community. Well done.
State Hockey Finals
Our senior mixed hockey team is playing in the State Finals this week. This is an outstanding effort by the students, families and coaches and we wish them the very best.
I would like to acknowledge Grant Sanderson and Bodey Carr who both started at Bairnsdale Secondary College this year as the Sports Coordinator and Sports Trainee respectively. Grant and Bodey have been tasked with supporting our students to attend all inter school sports events. Where the students have a team – BSC will be there competing.
Grant and Bodey continue to promote our College sports program and to make sure that BSC students get every opportunity to get out there and enjoy competing.
Also thank you to the staff at our College who have supported the sports program throughout the year by volunteering, supervising, coaching and cheering on. The support provided is greatly appreciated by our College community.
Year 9 Melbourne Experience
Over the past two weeks our Year 9 students and staff have been travelling to Melbourne to experience the amazing sights and sounds that our State Capital has to offer.
Students have been able to customise their experience to visit key landmarks that interest them and to get out and about in the city as they completed ‘The Amazing Race'.
My sincere thanks to the staff, parents and students that have supported this program. Take a look at the Year 9 page of this newsletter for more details and photos.

Further information about the Disability Inclusion supports will be provided in Term 4.
