5/6 Team News

What a term in the 56s!
Our wonderful students have been super busy publishing their biographies and explanatory texts. We are very proud of all the effort they´ve put into their masterpieces and the final products shown a deep understanding of the genres and of the content knowledge explored through the term. Excellent work!
Cultural Week
The students have been immersed exploring landmark events in Aboriginal history post colonisation through the lens of activism and self-determination. They´ve scripted, produced, performed and edited their own documentary videos featuring one of these landmark moments in history. This was a fun and engaging way of reviewing content knowledge learnt during Term 2.
Also, our students had the opportunity to choose a scene of the book they´ve been reading in English Literacy “Us Mob Walawurru” and explore a key textual theme through artwork. The outcomes of the activity were fascinating as they were able to demonstrate their understanding and consolidate their learning through Art and symbolism.
