Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

This weekend, the following Year 6 students

Keizen, Mya, Ray, Alyssa, Tiago, Arianna, Jonathan, Leo, Nathaniel & Cormac

will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Kevin’s Church.  Confirmation is a sacred and significant milestone in the Catholic faith. Through this sacrament, our baptised children will receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and be strengthened in their commitment to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.

We are blessed to welcome Bishop Thinh, who will confirm our students and join us in praying for these young members of our community. May the Holy Spirit guide and inspire them as they take this important step in their faith journey, continuing to grow in the love and Spirit of Jesus.

Let us keep them and their families in our prayers during this special time.

                  MANNINGHAM MONSTER RAFFLE

You would have received your book of 10 tickets into the Manningham Monster Raffle. It would be great if every family could sell one book of ten raffle tickets ($2 per ticket). Thank you to those families that have already returned their money.  Many have!

There is the opportunity to win $10k in prizes – the first prize is $5k worth of Coles Myer vouchers!!!

The tickets were sent home with the eldest student from each family. The school receives $1.50 from every ticket sold.

It would be appreciated if all sold and/or unsold tickets are returned to the school by the school advised return date of Friday June 6.

Please note that this will be cash only to assist the PFA with the administration of the process.

Cross Country

Congratulations Sonny! Thank you for all your efforts representing St Kevin’s! Top job!

Bunnings BBQ – DONCASTER – Sunday 3rd August

St Kevin’s is excited to be hosting a

Bunnings BBQ at Doncaster Bunnings on Sunday, 3rd August.Set-up begins at 8:00am, with clean-up starting from 5:30pm.

Last year, we raised just over $800, and this year, the challenge is on to beat that total!

We would love your support in making this a fun and successful community event. There are a few ways you can help:

  • Volunteer: Put your name down to help out on the day – all are welcome!
  • Visit: Come by, say hello, and enjoy a sausage, a drink – or both!
  • Bring a friend: The more, the merrier!

We especially encourage new families to get involved; this is a fantastic way to connect and be part of our wonderful school community.  It’s more than just a fundraiser, it’s a real community-building event.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The money raised this year will go towards restoring outdoor furniture and back filling tanbark surface in the Adventure Playground.

Supporting Student Services:  Process for External Providers

To support the wellbeing, safety, and learning of all students, our school is implementing a formalised process for families requesting external providers (such as NDIS-funded therapists) to deliver services on school grounds during school hours.

This new process ensures we meet our legal and safety obligations and helps us manage these arrangements more effectively. Families currently accessing support have received detailed information and forms to complete. These include a Parent Consent Form and a Therapist Information Request Form.

We appreciate your cooperation and support as we implement these important changes.

NCCD – National Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability

At St. Kevin’s, we are currently preparing for the 2025 NCCD.

What is the NCCD?

The NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data) gathers information about students with disability who receive additional support at school. This support helps them take part in learning alongside their peers. Teachers determine the type of support needed in collaboration with parents, carers, and the student. Each year, schools must report this information to the Australian Government.

Why is the NCCD important?

The NCCD helps schools and governments better understand how to support students with disabilities. It also helps with planning and funding to ensure students get the help they need.

How is the information used?

  • To show how schools support students with disabilities.
  • To help improve education policies and planning.
  • To make sure schools meet their legal responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act.
  • Information sent to the government does not include student names or personal details.

How does the NCCD help our school?

The NCCD helps us:

  • Recognise and record the support we give students.
  • Understand our students’ needs more clearly.
  • Improve our learning and support practices.
  • Develop our teachers’ skills in providing adjustments for students.

As part of this process, we are meeting with parents in support groups to review and plan the help students need. This information will be included in our NCCD report in August 2025.

For more information, please see the attached PDFs.

The Compass message went out to all parents and Carers on Friday.  This will take place on Wednesday 2nd of July 12:30pm - 5:30pm.   This is an opportunity for you, your child and the teacher/s  to discuss student data, student’s report and goals for next semester (Please ensure students attend the Student, Parent & Teacher Conversations).

On Wednesday 2nd of July  all the students will be dismissed at 12pm. If you require care for your child/children YLV will be available. Paris will confirm on Friday 06/06.

The smooth running of our Student, Parent & Teacher Conversations relies on all parents keeping to the timetable. Interviews are strictly 10 minutes and they will take place onsite at St Kevin’s in your child’s classroom.  The meeting will need to end on time as each meeting is back to back. If you require more time with a particular teacher, please arrange a separate meeting or phone call.  School phone 9273 9999.  The bookings are open.

If your child/children has/have had a PSG, it is optional for you to attend the Parent Teacher Student conversations.

Go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the code         d749a   to book your preferred time.
