Prep: Bedtime Stories

Helen Reid, Prep Team Leader

Under sparkling fairy lights, around 90 preps and parents gathered to read stories together, dressed in warm pyjamas and cuddling their favourite teddy. This annual event on the Prep calendar is much anticipated and designed to celebrate the joy of reading together.

Mrs Bryant and Mrs Vaughan collaborated to read ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ to the children. The Prep students reminded us of God’s presence with us, through the day and night, when they sang the beautiful ‘The Night Song’.

It was a joy to see parents and children reading wonderful stories together and we hope it inspires parents to keep reading to their children, long after they can read for themselves.  We ended the night with milk and a biscuit while listening to the appropriately named ‘Time for Bed’ story. After a bedtime prayer, the children went home to bed.

Year 6: Camp

AnnMarie Lok, Year 6 Teacher

Blessed with fresh air and blue skies, our students embraced all that the Phillip Island Adventure Resort had to offer. The thrill-seekers among us particularly enjoyed high-adrenaline activities such as the giant swing, flying fox, and crate climb. Other favourites included bush pancake-making, canoeing, and a lively game of disc golf!

It was truly inspiring to see our students demonstrate a growth mindset as they enthusiastically engaged in every challenge, showing both courage and kindness throughout the week.

The excitement continued during our Hollywood-themed dress-up afternoon, where the red carpet was graced by a variety of famous stars. Among the crowd were Barbie, Minions, several Disney characters, and a delightful array of inflatable dinosaurs! The annual talent show that followed was a spectacular celebration of the many gifts and abilities the Lord has bestowed upon our Year 6 students. From singing and acting to unique individual acts, each performance was a shining example of their creativity and confidence.

Our evening activities added even more excitement to the week, with glow stick hunts, trivia competitions, and a cozy movie night complete with popcorn. Each moment was filled with laughter, teamwork, and memory-making.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing students, dedicated staff, and incredible parent helpers. Your support made this week run seamlessly and joyfully. We are truly grateful to the Lord for such a special and enriching camp experience!
