Excursions & Immersions
Year 9 Personal Best
On Thursday 6 June, our Year 9 Personal Best Fabrics class embarked on an excursion through town, delivering our hand-sewn goodies we spent the semester working hard on. Our first stop was the hospital, where we visited the palliative care and maternity wards. It was a beautiful experience to see the smiles on the faces of the nurses as they were so excited as we handed out our handmade baby blankets, heat pillows and walker caddies. The gratitude they expressed was enough to warm our hearts and reaffirm the importance of compassion as not only a school value but an important part of society.
After our visit to the hospital, we headed to the aged care home, delivering more of our handcrafted gifts. The joy, appreciation and round of applause from the workers reminds us of the impact even small acts of kindness can have on others. This excursion was more than just a trip around town, it was an experience reaffirming the importance of giving.
Thank you Mrs Thomson for your guidance while we created these gifts. Thank you to Blaize Hearn for accompanying us on the bus and to the services, and for taking the photos.
