Book Week

August 19th - 23r

What's On?

Get ready for an enchanting week filled with literary adventures!

Reading in Unusual Places Photo Challenge: We invite all students to embark on a reading quest! Capture photos of yourself reading in extraordinary spots - whether it's at the footy, on a trampoline, or even upside down on the monkey bars! The sky's the limit (safely, of course)! Details can be found in the parent letter on your Compass newsfeed.

The Great Book Swap: Join us on Tuesday 20th August for The Great Book Swap extravaganza! Leading up to this day, each child is encouraged to bring 1-2 of their books in good condition to share with fellow students. Your classroom teacher will be collecting the books. On the day, tables will transform into a treasure trove of stories, where every donated book awaits a new reader in exchange for a gold coin donation. Afterwards, we'll have dedicated reading time with our new books. All proceeds will support The Indigenous Literacy Foundation, championing literacy and storytelling in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia.

Book Parade/Dress Up Day: Don't miss out on the highlight of our week - Friday 23rd August is Dress Up Day! Let your imagination run wild as students come dressed as their beloved book characters. The parade will be held in the Sports and Performance centre at 9am, families are invited to attend.

There's a whirlwind of excitement planned for the week, including classroom door creations inspired by each class's favourite book, engaging reading rotations across the school, and a special visit from the renowned author Morris Gleitzman!

Stay tuned for more magical details!
