Flourishing Together - Celebrating Wellbeing Week at GRPS

 

This week our school was thrilled to host Wellbeing Week, dedicated to nurturing mental health and happiness among our students. This special week was packed with a variety of enjoyable and meaningful activities, all aimed at equipping children with essential tools for managing their own mental wellbeing.

 

 

Make it Meaningful Monday: To start the week, we invited participation in our food donation drive for For the Kids Australia (4TK) located in Ringwood, supporting their Food Pantry Program. We were inundated with generous donations and the team at 4TK was so grateful to the GRPS community!

The students participated in lessons focused on ‘engagement’. They participated in mindful moments and activities that they were able to become fully engrossed in.

 

 

Terrific Tuesday: Students enjoyed visiting our ‘Smile Project’ photobooth, reflecting on gratitude, and crafting friendship bracelets and doing mindful colouring during lunchtime. The teachers also enjoyed some after school activities which included an art lesson with Mrs Bosomworth or yoga with Miss Hamilton.

Work Your Magic Wednesday: Kindness took centre stage as students engaged in classroom kindness activities and explored sand art in the Art Room at lunchtime. The teachers also enjoyed a walk and talk before the first bell.

 

Thank You For Being You Thursday: Staff and students contributed to our whole-school ‘affirmation wall’, focusing on ways to uplift others and spread positivity. Make sure you check it out! A group of our school captains also visited a local kindergarten and read the beautiful story, Have You Filled a Bucket Today and completed a craft activity.

 

 

Feel Good Friday: We concluded Wellbeing Week with a fun ‘Feel Good Afternoon’, featuring enjoyable activities for the entire school after lunch including bubble blowing, ribbon dancing, gold medal replays, chalk art and more! The teachers enjoyed a delicious bowl of soup from Milk and Wine Co to finish off a fabulous week.
