The Great Book Swap – Book Appeal
During Book Week the library will be hosting a book swap, organised by our fantastic team of library volunteers, to raise funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Students and their families are invited to donate books for the stall. The stall will be available throughout Book Week for students to donate a gold coin and select a book (or books!) to take home.
Book donations can be delivered to the school office, or directly to the library.
Funds raised go towards the Book Supply program, which reaches over 400 remote Communities. This year they aim to raise $180,000 to gift 18,000 culturally relevant books to Communities that need them the most.
All participants are assigned a House - Viewbank College are in the Yari house, which means whale in Yawuru. Yawuru is an endangered language spoken on the coast south of Rubibi (Broome) in Western Australia.
If you have any questions please do get in touch with us at library@viewbank.vic.edu.au, or find more information on The Indigenous Literacy Foundation website.
