Literacy Book Week

Established with the first awards in 1946, the CBCA Book of the Year Awards aim to:

promote quality literature for young Australians by Australians;

support and encourage a wide range of Australian writers and illustrators of books for young people aged 0 through 18 and;

celebrate contributions to Australian children’s literature.

Book Week 2024 is just around the corner, and we are excited to celebrate our love for reading and books. This year, the festivities will include a special Book Week Parade on Wednesday, August 21st. The theme this year is 'Reading is Magic'. Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite book characters or a magical character and join in the fun as we parade around the school oval (weather permitting). Parents are welome to attend with our parade beginning at 9:15am.

If any families have a copy of Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl and would be willing to donate it to Sacred Heart, we would greatly appreciate it. We are working to assemble a class set for our Year Two students.
