Bunjil the Eagle School Mural
Week One of this term marked the changeover for all classes from Performing Arts classes to Visual Arts classes and vice versa - students who had Performing Arts classes the first half of the school year now have started Visual Arts classes.
To start this program off with a BANG!! All classes worked collaboratively to create a mural for last week’s NAIDOC Week celebrations which was proudly displayed at the assembly on Friday.
As an introduction, students watched a wonderful mini-film, Bunjil - Flight to the Stars, where the students learnt about the Indigenous Dreamtime story of Bunjil.
Students then used their understanding of the elements of art (line, shape, pattern, texture, form, space and colour) to create feathers for the face and body of Bunjil.
Foundation students used sponges and paints to create the Indigenous Flag background.
We think it looks amazing!!!
