Year Three

As part of our 'Where We Are in Place and Time' unit of inquiry, students have been reading and writing biographies and historical narratives. As we learn about Australian history in the 18th century, students are creating their own historical narrative from the perspective of Captain Cook or from the perspective of a convict. Students are focussed on using descriptive language to help the reader build a picture in their mind. We are working through the writing process. Currently students are drafting descriptive paragraphs about the setting and character.

We are very proud of how students are using specific vocabulary to describe the setting and character for their historical narrative.

These photos show some samples of drafted paragraphs about the setting and characters.
