Year Two

As part of our unit of inquiry which explores the idea that ‘places are significant and given meaning by people’ we have been discovering local places that are meaningful.

We went on a walk in our local area and identified places that could be significant to people. We visited Woodlands Park and explored the streets around Essendon North. Some of the places we saw included; a local church, day care centres, sporting venues and the local park.

Throughout our learning experiences, students have expanded their idea of what a ‘place’ is and how it might be significant.
