FORPS, Parents & Community

President’s Report 2026
Wow — what an incredible year 2025 was for the FORPS team. Thanks to the energy, generosity and community spirit of our families and volunteers, we raised over $51,000 across the year. These funds will make a meaningful difference to our school and students.
While the School Fair was our flagship fundraising event, FORPS proudly delivered a full calendar of activities that helped bring our community together. These included the Welcome Family Picnic, Easter Raffle, Mother’s/Father’s & Special Others stall, School Disco, Election Day BBQ and Cake Stall, and our very successful Bunnings BBQ.
Before reflecting on the year’s events, I would like to sincerely thank every volunteer who supported FORPS in 2025. Whether you turned sausages on a hot BBQ, donated prizes, baked for a stall, helped set up tables, or gave your time in any other way — your contribution mattered. Quite simply, none of this happens without our wonderful parent community.
Although our FORPS committee is relatively small, it is made up of an exceptional group of dedicated and hardworking people. I am incredibly grateful for the commitment shown by our Executive and key volunteers:
Hayley Nash
Hayley took on the role of Vice President and provided fantastic support throughout the year, stepping in wherever needed and helping ensure our events ran smoothly.
Maegan Devine
Maegan once again did an outstanding job as Secretary, keeping our school community informed via Compass, the newsletter, Facebook and other channels. Her organisation of volunteer callouts ensured our events were always well supported.
Lee Adams
Lee was not only our Treasurer but also one of our BBQ coordinators. He worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the tools, delivering consistently successful sausage sizzles across multiple events.
Roberto Pita
Roberto was our other BBQ coordinator and worked tirelessly to ensure our BBQs were consistently well stocked and running smoothly throughout the year. His hands-on support across multiple events helped deliver many successful sausage sizzles for our community.
Emma McLellan
Emma did a wonderful job overseeing catering requirements across the year, as well as being part of the Mother’s/Father’s & Special Others ordering team.
Laura Churches
Laura worked diligently to reunite many lost items with their owners — a reminder to all families to please label belongings!
Ting Cheng
Ting ensured the Sick Bay remained clean, organised and well maintained throughout the year — an important but often unseen role.
Event Highlights
We kicked off the year with our much-loved Welcome Family Picnic, which once again provided a relaxed and friendly way for families to connect at the start of the school year.
Our Easter Raffle at the end of Term 1 was a strong success, raising approximately $3,000. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes and supported ticket sales — the response from the community was fantastic.
The Mother’s/Father’s & Special Others stalls continued to be a highlight for students, giving them the opportunity to independently choose gifts for their special people. Importantly, we maintained our inclusive approach so that students without money could still participate.
The School Disco, run by Bop Till You Drop, had Chandler Hall absolutely buzzing with energy. It was wonderful to see so many students dancing and enjoying time with their friends.
Our Bunnings BBQ proved to be another very worthwhile fundraiser, generating approximately $2,600 thanks to the efforts of our dedicated BBQ volunteers.
In October, with RPS serving as a polling location for the federal election, FORPS ran a sausage sizzle and cake stall. Community support was outstanding, and the day raised an impressive $3,600.
School Fair — The Big One
The RPS Spring Fair was undoubtedly a highlight of the year.
Following extensive planning and coordination, the fair was a tremendous success. Thank you to the Fair Committee — too many to name individually — but you know who you are — and all supporting volunteers who contributed countless hours across planning, promotion, logistics, stalls, entertainment and pack-down.
Despite a few last-minute curveballs — as all good fairs have — the day ran beautifully and was enjoyed by the entire community.
I am extremely proud to report that the fair delivered a fantastic profit of over $36,000, making it our most significant fundraiser for the year.
End-of-Year Wrap-Up
Our final event, the End-of-Year Picnic, was held as a thank-you to all our RPS families who generously volunteered their time at the school fair. Rather than calling on additional volunteers to run a BBQ, the school kindly subsidised pizza orders for families to enjoy.
A big thank you to everyone who helped organise the event and made it such a lovely and pleasant way to finish the school year.
In closing, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Jeff, Justine, Kim, Ally, and the entire RPS staff for their ongoing support of FORPS. Your partnership and assistance throughout the year are greatly valued and truly appreciated.
I would also like to extend a huge thank you to Jackie Arbuckle and Kellie McQuestin. With their children now moving on to high school, we farewell two incredible volunteers whose countless hours of dedication have made a lasting impact on our school community. While they will certainly leave big shoes to fill, their departure also creates a wonderful opportunity for new families to step forward and become involved in the broader FORPS community
I am incredibly proud of what our small, but mighty FORPS team has achieved this year and look forward to building on this momentum in 2026.
