Year 2 Learning Spotlight

This term in Religion, Year 2 have been exploring different images of God in Scripture and developing their understanding of what God is like. We reflected on God as a potter, who carefully shapes and reshapes clay, just like God guides and remoulds us when we make mistakes. To represent this, we created a special class pot, reminding us that even when it cracks or breaks, it can be remade.

Year 2 received a special “gift from God.” Inside the box was a mirror, and as each student opened it, they saw their own reflection and realised that they are a gift from God. Throughout the unit, we have explored the creation story, where we learned about how each person is made in God’s image. Students created self-portraits and reflected on what makes them special and unique.

Finally, we have been discussing how we can show God’s goodness to others. Students created their own google slide, inserting images of how we can share God’s goodness to others and all of creation. Students have thoroughly enjoyed engaging in this unit!
