Class Spotlight

In geography, 5/6 Cole have been looking into the purpose and aims of the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). UNESCO is an important branch of the United Nations which aims to preserve and conserve places of significant around the world which have been assessed as having ‘Outstanding Universal Value’. The World Heritage List includes 1248 places across 170 countries!

We then chose to focus on Australia’s identified Heritage sites creating profiles to summarise our researched information. Some of the sites we chose were:

• The Sydney Harbour Bridge
• The Great Barrier Reef
• Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
• Shark Bay

• Bondi Beach
