Meet 1/2DM! 

We've had a great start to the 2026 school year. It's been lovely to see our class coming together so calmly and respectfully. We have spent some time on 'Getting to Know You' activities such as games with our names, partner chats and playing board games together. These activities not only help us get to know each other, but also to think about how we need to treat each other so that everyone feels happy, safe and respected.

Our Maths unit on Data has also provided another great way to get to know each other. We have been learning how to collect and record data using tally marks. Each student interviewed class members to collect and record data about a question of their choosing. They then represented their data with picture or column graphs and interpreted the data, writing statements about what the data told them.

In RE, we have been exploring what God is like and where we find God. We linked God as a creator with all the ways and places we find God in our world.

In Literacy, we are beginning with a focus on Health, starting with exploring the importance of healthy eating.

We’re going to have a great year together!
